Say good-bye to the Chuck E. Cheese band, tokens and bold red colors and get ready for a more contemporary playground for the kids and more adult friendly atmosphere for the parents.

The new roll out will be slowly phased in starting with seven locations, four in San Antonio and three in Kansas City.

Although the franchise is phasing out the tokens to  “Play Passes,” (a swipe and play system) no need to worry the about the tickets, CEO Tom Leverton told CNBC, “tickets are an essential part of the Chuck E. Cheese’s experience,” he said. “For kids, there’s a lot of excitement when those tickets come out of the machine.”
